Shekinah Counseling is here to help people find a place of peace within difficulties and to help people to work through problems. Our mission is to help people work through past traumas, depression, anxiety and to encourage growth, healing and restoration.
Brie-Anna Willey, EdD, LMHC, CRC, CTP, CPC, QS is the owner of Shekinah Counseling. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Certified Telehealth Practitioner, Certified Professional Coach, and a Qualified Supervisor. She has been working in the mental health field for 15 years. She obtained her master's degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida in 2009. She obtained a doctorate of education in Community Care and Counseling with a specialization in Traumatology. Her dissertation was titled Understanding the Experiences of Compassion Fatigue Among Counselors in Private Practice: A Phenomenological Approach.
She specializes in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, and ADHD. She provides Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), ADHD management strategies, career counseling, and draws from other approaches. She also provides strategies for managing compassion fatigue, secondary trauma, and preventing burnout. She also provides Christian counseling if requested.
